SUV's and VIP Cars

The technology ABBS is developing has universal application to any vehicle that is subject to a mine threat, from 2 ton SUV's to 50 ton main battle tanks.

Historically, there was no point in protecting light vehicles against significant mine blast threats because even if a sufficiently strong belly plate and floor design was used to prevent penetration and excessive floor deformation, the global acceleration of a 2 - 3 ton vehicle hit by such as a 6kg blast mine would be likely to kill the occupants anyway.

The advent of the VGAM technology allows the possibility, for the first time, of the application of significant mine protection to light vehicles, and with the addition of the VAFS system to minimise floor deformation, gives the real prospect of preventing serious injury to the occupants of such vehicles hit by under-belly mines.
