Focused technologies for survivability, autonomy and protection
ABBS communicates its capabilities at a high level. Detailed technical material is made available to approved partners and customers through our secure portal.
Homeland Security
Layered protection of critical infrastructure and public spaces against emerging aerial threats.
The proliferation of low-cost uncrewed aerial systems has created a new class of risk for airports, energy infrastructure, ports and public events. Detection alone is not protection.
ABBS develops layered, proportionate approaches intended to support the detection and defeat of these threats — designed around cost, safety and the practical realities of operating near people and infrastructure.
Applications: Airports · ports · stadia · public events · critical infrastructure
Autonomous Systems
Technologies supporting safe, effective operation of autonomous platforms in demanding environments.
Autonomous platforms increasingly operate in hazardous, remote and contested environments where failure carries real consequence.
Our work supports the safety, resilience and operational effectiveness of these platforms — including crash-prevention systems for the eVTOL market through Active VTOL Crash Prevention Ltd.
Applications: eVTOL & advanced air mobility · uncrewed platforms

Survivability Technologies
Protection and resilience for personnel, vehicles and infrastructure under blast and ballistic threat.
Survivability remains the founding discipline of ABBS. Our patents span vehicle blast protection — including systems designed to counter the global acceleration imparted to a vehicle by a mine or IED detonation.
This work is grounded in instrumented live trials, not simulation alone.
Applications: Protected mobility · armoured platforms · infrastructure
Humanitarian Demining
Safer, faster clearance of mines and explosive remnants of war.
Millions of landmines and explosive remnants of war continue to threaten civilian populations long after conflict ends. Clearance is slow, dangerous and expensive.
ABBS supports the development of technologies intended to improve the safety, speed and effectiveness of clearance operations — applying defence engineering to a humanitarian problem.
Applications: Post-conflict clearance · humanitarian operations

Research & Development
Energetics, fusing, control and safety systems — from concept to trial.
Innovation remains central to our long-term strategy. ABBS continues to explore emerging technologies across energetics, fusing, initiation, control and safety systems.
Concepts are taken from first principles through design, build and instrumented testing at approved ranges.
Applications: Concept studies · prototyping · instrumented trials
